Does air pollution make you stupid and sad?

Our air is polluted with fine dust from our cars, stoves and industry. When we breathe in that fine dust, it can affect our lungs. But did you know that fine dust also gets to your brain? And it can do quite a bit of damage there, too. Just what happens inside our heads? And is that irreversible?

Kenneth Vanbrabant is fascinated by the brain. How crazy is it that so much information can go into that? But there is danger lurking around the corner: air pollution. After all, it can affect the functioning and development of our brains. In his future career, Kenneth wants to investigate the proverbial kink in our brains that causes your memory to malfunction and your emotions to run wild because of all that fine dust. And should he have time to spare, he would like to find a way to back up your brain.
