Postnatal exposure pathways to soot particles: a focus on breast milk and its impact on cognitive function in the first months of life

The start of life is such an important but very vulnerable period. As a mom of two, breastfeeding has fascinated me, and numerous studies have reported many benefits for the child's and mother's health. Unfortunately, breast milk might also be a potential exposure route for environmental pollutants. Therefore, I aim to investigate if black carbon can be passed to the infant via breastfeeding. Furthermore, I want to investigate if this exposure has an impact on the development of the infant.
